Monthly discussion groups on themes of sexuality and spiritAs an initiative of Dance with Chaos and EroticSpirit, three monthly group events are being introduced covering themes of sexuality: Movie Night, Living Tantra and The Breakfast Thing. Movie Night, a film screening and discussion, scheduled for the third Thursday evening of each month starting at 19h00. Films screened relate to different areas of sexuality and are intended to challenge and provoke discussion. January's film is Secretary, a 2002 BDSM-themed, romantic comedy-drama directed by Steven Shainberg and starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and James Spader. From an interview with director Steven Shainberg by Lions Gate Films): "It deals in the way in which sex, love and power are all inter-related and I was very interested in doing a love story that was different and that would deal with these kinds of issues but not in a creepy way or a dark way but in a way that had a sort of lightness and beauty to it. I don't think that there's anything odd, at all, about what they're doing. I think while what they're doing is perhaps metaphorically bigger than the way many love relationships work in reality, that all relationships have these aspects." Living Tantra is a regular group, meeting on the first Thursday evening of each month starting February 2010. It is for anyone interested in an ongoing practice of Tantra, bringing fullness of awareness into their daily lives. The group provides support, sharing and practice of basic Tantra exercises. It is suitable for anyone wanting an introduction to Tantra as well as for those who already have experience with the practice of Tantra. Also starting in February 2010, The Breakfast Thing, scheduled for the second Thursday morning of each month, is intended as a fluid conversation space, a light and informal gathering to openly discuss topics relating to sexuality. February's topic is "Beliefs and perceptions of sexuality we're brought up with" where we will open the can on concepts we grow up with that shape our expression and experience of sexuality as adults. All events have a suggested contribution of R50 to cover organisation. Space is typically limited so RSVP your attendance to receive venue information. For more information on these and other events with Dances with Chaos visit http://stephentredrea.com/events Stephen is a practicing Tantrika in service as a catalyst for the experience of seekers in truth and awareness.
