Seems like every bride has questions when it comes to their bridal shower, I
think the reason for this is because bridal showers are not as common as you
would think, many brides opt out of the whole bridal shower idea, some because
of money and some because they just don’t see the point of having one. Well if
you are a bride who’s decided to have one, here are a few questions you might
have and a few tips that will help you have a successful bridal shower.
1. A question that I hear a lot is, if I invite someone to the bridal shower,
do I have to invite them to the wedding? The answer is yes. The whole point of
the shower is for people to shower you with gifts, If you expect someone to
bring you a gift that someone should be a guest to your wedding.
2. It’s not the wedding, don’t over do-it. Whether you want something elegant
or simple, just make sure it’s toned down and that it won’t compete with your
wedding.
3. Open your gifts towards the end of the shower, you’re expected to. The
tradition is that you open the gifts and show all the guests what you’ve been
showered with.
4. Don’t forget to thank your guests. Some give out favors as a thank you, but
if this is not something you’ll be doing, make sure you don’t forget to write
thank you cards.
And finally, don’t have a boring shower where people just sit and eat (I’ve
been to a couple of those), try to entertain your guests with some games, even
if it’s just Bingo, your guests will come together and enjoy themselves. And
consider having a couples (men & women) shower, it’s not the norm but it
could turn out to be very fun.
